Israel Kamakawiwo'ole alias IZ - Over the Rainbow (DJ Tura Tribute Remix)

Israel "IZ" Kamakawiwo'ole (Oahu, 20 maggio 1959 – Honolulu, 26 giugno 1997) è stato un cantante e musicista statunitense nativo delle Hawaii. È conosciuto anche con gli pseudonimi di Bruddah Iz o Bradda IZ.

È divenuto famoso nel 1993 con la pubblicazione dell'album discografico Facing Future contenente il medley delle canzoni Somewhere Over the Rainbow (che fu scritta nel 1939 per Judy Garland e inserita nella colonna sonora del film Il mago di Oz) e What a Wonderful World (standard portato al successo da Louis Armstrong) eseguito in una versione con accompagnamento all'ukulele.

Il brano registrato da Kamakawiwo'ole è stato incluso nelle colonne sonore di diversi film: Scoprendo Forrester, Vi presento Joe Black, 50 volte il primo bacio, Ritorno a Kavai. È stato utilizzato anche in una puntata della serie tv ER, come sottofondo dello spot pubblicitario di una marca italiana di automobili, in una puntata di Scrubs, in una di Life on Mars e in una di Cold Case. A giugno del 2007 è stato inserito anche nella pubblicità di un'acqua minerale.
